Cookies
What the site writes into your browser, why, and how to remove it. The list is short: five keys, and none of them follows where you go.
Cookies and browser storage
Data can land in three kinds of place in your browser. A cookie is visible to the server on every request; the other stores live only on your machine, and the server never reads them.
- cookie — the server sees it too, and it sets the expiry as well
- localStorage — stays on your machine, with no expiry, until you clear it
- sessionStorage — stays on your machine, but is gone when you close the window
No tracking
No store here is unnecessary to how the site works. There is no advertising or analytics cookie, no embedded social-network code, and no request leaves for a third party while the page loads.
That is also why there is no consent bar. A bar that asks no real question would only teach people that the question does not matter. If such a store ever appears, the bar appears with it.
What we store
This is the complete list. Not a sample: if one of them leaves the code, this section gets shorter too.
- psyraiderz:motion
- localStorage. Your motion setting: full, reduced or automatic. On "automatic" we store nothing and follow your browser setting.
- psyraiderz:shader-tier
- sessionStorage. Which quality tier your machine can handle. It lasts for this visit only — the point is not to remember a weak machine, but to avoid probing again on every page.
- sb-…-auth-token
- cookie. The signed-in session, with a long-lived token. It appears only if you sign in as a crew member.
- pr-remember
- cookie, 30 days. The "stay signed in" flag. The value inside identifies nothing; the session itself is carried by the token above.
- NEXT_LOCALE
- cookie. The language you chose, so that you do not have to switch again on your next visit.
The traffic measurement
We measure page opens, but not with anything stored in your browser: the server derives an identifier from your IP address and your browser name, with a key that rotates daily. The key is not stored, so tomorrow’s identifier cannot be joined to today’s.
Nothing goes into your browser for the measurement. We do not even set a cookie for it — which is why we do not have to ask permission for it.
How to remove it
You can clear what is stored here at any time in your browser settings, filtering to this site alone if you like. The practical effect: your language, motion and quality settings fall back to their defaults, and if you were signed in, you sign in again.
Your reservation is not affected: it is not in your browser but in the database, and you reach it with the manage link. If you want that gone too, there is a button on the manage page.
